Virginia Creeper Trail - washout repair, two sections - May 2026

We look at two sections of the Virginia Creeper Trail that were washed away by Hurricane Helene in September 2024. In both places the trail was totally gone, and tons of rock have been brought in to provide a new trail foundation. This process is being repeated up and down the trail. All flights take off and land on private or publicly-owned property or with permit. In some cases spotters are utilized.
