King Pigeon Yoga • 45-Minute Intermediate Vinyasa Flow for Hips & Shoulders
Advance your practice with this 45-minute vinyasa yoga flow. This class will focus on opening up the hips and shoulders to prepare the body for King Pigeon Pose, also known as Eka Pada Rajakapotasana. Class will start with a grounded warm-up sequence for the chest, neck and shoulders before moving into several rounds of Sun A. For our main sequence, we will open up the hip flexors and side body before moving through a series of postures that will strengthen and deeply stretch the hips & shoulders. As we build heat in the body, we will introduce King Pigeon Pose before cooling down with a seated forward fold, deep spinal twists and happy baby. Class will end in Savasana. Eka Pada Rajakapotasana is an intermediate-advanced level posture. As always listen to your body & only do what feels right for you. I will be breaking down the pose in different levels, so don't worry if you're not quite there yet today! You can still follow along and get the same amazing benefits. For this practice, I recommend having a strap ready at the top of your mat. Avoid this pose if you've had any injuries to your knees, shoulders, neck or lower back. See you on the mat!
