Touhou 17: Wily Beast and Weakest Creature - Extra Stage

𝘒𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘉𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘻𝘺 ~ 𝘉𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘮 The stage portion of the Extra Stage itself honestly isn’t too bad for the most part. Part in parcel to the fact that you partially know how to deal with what’s coming. Like Touhou 16, the stage here takes a lot of patterns from a previous stage in the main game. As such a lot of enemy patterns are much harder versions of stuff you dealt with in Stage 4 from before. With that in mind, in many cases your go to strategy is to hang out on one side or the other to blast the stream of enemies coming in from off screen before they can fire. Kutaka comes back basically whipping out harder versions of a couple choice spell cards plus a new one. Her first spell card’s pretty RNG so you just need to get good reflexes to beat it. Second and third however are a bit more systematic (third especially). As such, you may need to figure out a good way to move to manipulate the bullets or making it so you can focus on one wave after the other, but with practice you can beat the spells in generally the same way every time. Saki is an extremely direct fighter, plain, pure and simple. For the most part however that does mean her attacks are actually fairly easy to contend with though. Her non-spells especially considering almost all of them are simple straightforward shots, but many of her spell cards follow the same logic to boot. She does have a select few that are complete bonkers however, but soon as you understand the logic behind them and plan ahead she’s really not bad to deal with.
