Sewing a Witchy Deerstalker
We went on a little autumn break to a tiny house in the middle of nowhere, and I took this here sewing project. A deerstalker witches hat, inspired by the one professor McGonagall wears to Quidditch matches and the lovely version made by CosTuber Bernadette Banner. (watch her, far superior, video on it here: • Video ) So the idea is not mine, but here is my version of it! I used only leftover material from other projects: some wool from a cape and skirt I made, very stiff cotton I used for a corded petticoat, silk from an 18th century project and some ribbon and bias tape from my stash. I drafted the pattern by using my head circumference, and the desired height of the cone (in my case 30 cm, a bit too high) and eyeballing the depth of the brim (8 cm) and the size and shape of the earflaps. It's a real nice and quick project great for leftover material and... great for a sophisticated halloween outfit. But I will take any excuse to wear this hat out, so wingardium leviosa to that! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Buy me a 'coffee' at: ko-fi.com/juulthijssen My favourite pins: https://la-rose-passementarie.com/pry...
