BREAKING: Hottest June day ever in UK as 50-year-old record falls

Today is now officially the hottest ever June day, breaking the 1976 record. A temperature of 35.7C has been recorded in Charlwood, Surrey, according to the Met Office. This year marks half a century since the 1976 heatwave: a summer when people put foil over windows to keep out the sun and were forced to use standpipes in the street as water supplies ran short. The UK's all-time high is 40.3C, recorded in July 2022. #uk #weather SUBSCRIBE to our YouTube channel for more videos:    / skynews   Follow us on Twitter:   / skynews   Like us on Facebook:   / skynews   Follow us on Instagram:   / skynews   Follow us on TikTok:   / skynews   For more content go to http://news.sky.com and download our apps: Apple https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/sky-n...
