The preacher and imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Akrama Sabri, stated that the proposed law restricting the call to prayer (Adhan) and legalizing its prohibition in Jerusalem and within the 1948 territories is not the first and will not be the last. He pointed out that Itamar Ben-Gvir's group had raised the issue of restricting the Adhan months ago but failed, and that the current project represents the fifth failed attempt. Sabri emphasized that it is impermissible to interfere in the affairs of Islam, stressing that Muslims do not interfere in the affairs of other religions, whether Christianity or Judaism.
