The valve bag filling system automatically starts to fill the bags. After filling, a bag discharge chair automatically tips and drops the 50 Lb. bags of silica sand onto a heavy-duty discharge conveyor. Next, bags are conveyed over a check weigher to make sure the bag weights are in spec (not underweight). Then, the bags are conveyed past an ink jet printer, or lot code printing head, that prints a lot code on each bag as it goes by. Bags travel through a series of conveyors that prepare them for stacking by a robotic palletizer: squaring conveyor, accumulation conveyor, and robot pick conveyor. A robotic palletizer with a bag tool picks up each bag and stacks them on a pallet. Empty pallets are automatically dispensed into the bag stack zone as needed.
