Not every day living off the grid is filled with huge projects or dramatic adventures. Sometimes it’s the simple days that leave the biggest impression. Today’s plan was simple. We headed into town to pick up some plastic polish and see if we could remove the scratches from the golf cart windshield. Just another ordinary day at Bonita Valley Ranch… or so we thought. As the sun began to set, we took our usual evening walk around the ranch and stumbled across another old grave marker hidden on the property. We don’t know whose beloved companion rests there, but it served as a reminder that every old piece of land has a story—and every life, no matter how small, mattered to someone.
