Obchody wsi Ciełuszki

"This is a very important holiday. It's one of the most important holidays of the year," emphasizes Mr. Jerzy Kondratiuk. For years, the picturesque village of Ciełuszki has cultivated traditions that, for its residents, are not only an expression of faith but also a sign of community and rootedness in local culture. The so-called "Spas" – a village procession held on August 19th (according to the Julian calendar) – is the day when residents, accompanied by a priest, set off in a procession, visiting each farm. Prayers are held at each house. The hosts prepare tables with bread and holy water – symbols of hospitality, life, and blessing. The procession ends at the crosses. This custom, despite the passage of time, has retained its original form and remains one of the most important elements of local spirituality. For the residents, it is not only a religious tradition but also a moment of integration and communal prayer for the entire village.
