A Walk Through Eimsbüttel: Hamburg’s Everyday Dream
Welcome to Eimsbüttel — the Hamburg district I’ve called home for more than 20 years. It may not have the big postcard views of the harbor, the Speicherstadt or the Alster, but Eimsbüttel has something else: everyday quality of life. You can walk to almost everything, from bakeries and cafés to shops, restaurants, pharmacies and bars. It feels like a small town inside the city. But there is a catch. Eimsbüttel is popular, dense, expensive, and short on social housing. The things that make it so attractive also make it harder to afford. In this walking tour, I explore why Eimsbüttel is one of Hamburg’s most loved neighborhoods — and why that love comes at a cost. #Hamburg #Eimsbüttel #HamburgGermany #GermanyTravel #WalkingTour
