Why Is MÁLAGA So Easy to Love?

Málaga and I had unfinished business. The first time I came here, it was only for one night — a short stopover before a road trip that never happened. But even in just a few hours, Málaga made a very good first impression. So when my plans changed, I came back for three nights to give the city the proper treatment. The extended version. The director’s cut. Málaga: The Movie. This time, I wanted to understand why Málaga feels so easy to be in. So I went back to La Malagueta, climbed up to Gibralfaro, visited Atarazanas Market, wandered through Soho, checked out the Alcazaba from the inside, met Picasso — well, his statue — followed the parrots, ate extremely well, and explored the seaside neighborhoods of Pedregalejo and El Palo. And by the end, I think I had my answer. Málaga doesn’t demand too much from you. It doesn’t shout like Sevilla or carry its history as heavily as Córdoba or Ronda. It simply says: welcome, have a seat, here’s a coffee, arrive first. That may be why it became my favorite city of the trip. #SoloTravel #Malaga #SpainTravel #Andalusia #CostaDelSol #ChrisWithoutBorders "31.12.2021 - Blick am Abend auf Malaga. 01" by Holger Uwe Schmitt, CC BY-SA 4.0 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/..., via Wikimedia Commons
