Toyota 22RE viscous fan clutch service. Adding higher viscosity silicone oil.

Opening up and adding oil to a viscous fan clutch for a Toyota Motorhome with a 22RE engine. Fan clutch is AISIN FCT-003 for the automatic transmission. FCT-001 is the part number for the manual. Added ~15ml of 30,000cSt silicone oil to the factory fill. Test drove at 68F ambient and it runs super cool now. My added auxiliary coolant temp gauge hit 195 degrees maximum with AC blasting and going 60mph/high load for several miles on the highway. Before this the temp would get up to 210 even 215-220 at higher ambient temps. Hill climbs would do the same. Checked every other part of the cooling system before this. Newly rebuilt 22RE with ALL OE parts except the radiator (CSF 2314 3 row all metal rad). THIS DID THE TRICK! Might be too much oil in there though… Fan is quite a bit noisier all the time now and roars good on a low speed pull after being at load. I will see how it does for gas mileage next season and maybe take it back apart to drain some of the oil. The resultant mixed up oil should be pretty close to where I want it, I think there’s just too much to fit fully in the reservoir. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
