Welcome to Cougar Rock Campground in Mount Rainier National Park! Nestled within the park, Cougar Rock Campground is the perfect destination for nature lovers. Accessible from the western entrance via Route 706, you'll find the campground on the scenic road to Paradise, the heart of Mount Rainier National Park. Along the way, enjoy a beautiful 1.4-mile hike to Carter Falls and the breathtaking views of Mount Rainier from the banks of the Nisqually River. A short nine-mile drive from here will take you to Paradise in less than 20 minutes. Perched at an elevation of 3,225 feet (983 meters), Cougar Rock Campground boasts 173 campsites spread across loops A to E. Amenities include clean, flush restrooms and drinking water located near the central restroom. While individual sites do not have electrical hookups, you can find electrical outlets in the restrooms. Note that generator use is prohibited in Loop E. The campground accommodates RVs up to 35 feet and trailers up to 27 feet. You can make reservations at recreation.gov, with Loop A available on a first-come, first-served basis. The daily fee is $20. Campfire wood is available at the entrance of Loop A, but it is quite expensive at $15 per bundle, so many campers opt to gather wood from nearby.
