2013 NEA Jazz Masters Tribute Concert

On January 14, 2013, the National Endowment for the Arts, in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, celebrated the 2013 NEA Jazz Masters---Mose Allison, Lou Donaldson, Lorraine Gordon, and Eddie Palmieri---at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The tribute concert was hosted by Wynton Marsalis, 2011 NEA Jazz Master and Jazz at Lincoln Center’s managing and artistic director, with additional remarks by Joan Shigekawa, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts; NEA Director of Music & Opera Wayne Brown; poet and former NEA deputy A.B. Spellman; NEA Jazz Masters Jimmy Cobb, McCoy Tyner, and George Wein; and the 2011 honorees. The concert featured performances by Amy Allison, Mose Allison, Kenny Barron, Ron Carter, Jimmy Cobb, Lou Donaldson, Paquito D’Rivera, Jimmy Heath, Sheila Jordan, Dave Liebman, and Eddie Palmieri.
