I Finally Built Running Water at My Forest Camp

Hi, Stefan here with DAY24 of my 31 Days of ONE MEAL A DAY in the Forest Challenge! 🌲 Today was a huge milestone for my forest camp. After 24 days of cooking, camping and improving my setup in the woods, I finally decided to solve one of the biggest problems I've had since day one: water. Using a long PVC pipe, I built a rainwater collection system connected directly to the roof of my forest shelter. The idea is simple — collect rainwater from the roof and channel it into a large container fitted with a tap, creating my very own water collection point right inside camp. Looking back, it's probably something I should have built much earlier, but I'm glad it's finally done. Of course, no day in the forest is complete without food. For today's one meal, I cooked venison sausages with wild mushrooms, and they turned out absolutely spectacular. Simple ingredients, amazing flavour, and the perfect meal after a productive day of improving the camp. There was plenty of banter, plenty of work, and another big step forward in turning this hidden forest kitchen into a practical and comfortable place to spend time outdoors. To finish the day, I prepared the camp for another overnight stay, settled into the shelter and watched the forest slowly disappear into the evening light. 24 days completed. 24 meals. 24 adventures. Only 7 days left to go. If you enjoy forest camping, bushcraft, outdoor cooking, camp building, solo adventures, hammock camping and watching a forest camp evolve day by day, you're in the right place.
