I cooked today something different | Cooking with Brenda Gantt

Good morning y'all. I actually made this video last night. These neckbones were delicious, rice, and of course a big hoe cake of cornbread. I was told that the reason this corn bread is hoecake is because they actually used to cook the bread on a garden hoe over a fire. I would love to know the history behind this. Or if your mother or grandmother cooked a hoecake was it like the one I cooked today or different. I did clean my plate. And had corn bread left over. So I got the buttermilk and poured it over my cornbread for my dessert. I think it was actually better than the neckbones. I hope you all have a great day and thank you for following me.
