The recent request from the Ministry of Finance to take on an extraordinary debt of US$6.2 billion has set off alarm bells in Congress, where members of the People's Party (PDG) and the opposition have cornered the Executive Branch with a barrage of questions, reports BioBioChile. This controversial measure, justified by cash flow discrepancies and the impact of the exchange rate, would raise the country's gross debt to 44.8% of GDP, leaving us dangerously close to the prudential ceiling of 45%, which would inevitably be crossed.
