Núñez y rechazo al secreto bancario: "La derecha tiene miedo de tocar a la gente que tiene poder"

The Senate rejected the proposal to facilitate the lifting of bank secrecy in organized crime investigations, meaning the initiative will now have to be addressed by a joint committee. On Line One, we spoke with Daniel Núñez, a senator from the Communist Party, who criticized right-wing sectors for the vote. The senator stated that “they are afraid to touch the people who control money and power. And well, drug trafficking infiltrates, and that means we have people who benefit from drug trafficking, who have a lot of money and power.” Núñez also maintained that the right wing has an “ideological prejudice” regarding bank secrecy. “They believe that the State is synonymous with arbitrariness, and that if the State has this power, it will act improperly, it will violate their individual rights.
