Professor Emeritus Choi Jun-sik of Ewha Womans University has published "Karma Lectures You Must Take Before It's Too Late." This is the third installment in his death series, following "Death Studies Lectures You Must Take Before It's Too Late" in 2014 and "Death Studies Lectures You Must Take Before It's Too Late." Professor Choi, who received his Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Temple University and served as a professor of Korean Studies at Ewha Womans University, is an authority on Korean studies, specializing in the study of Korean people and Korean culture. He became fascinated with death and the afterlife. In 2005, he founded the Korean Death Society, the first of its kind in Korea. He established the Center for Human Consciousness Research, where he researched and taught topics such as human death, the unconscious, the superconscious, past lives, and hypnosis. Over the years, the Korean Death Society has held numerous "Death Seminars" and established "Well-Dying Guidelines." Professor Choi believes that thanatology is not only about ending one's life well, but also about resolving the challenges of this life and leading a fulfilling life. Professor Choi has explored the afterlife views of major religions with an open mind, but the background of his lectures is not religion. He thoroughly bases his research on near-death experiencers. He believes that research on near-death experiencers, who experience the afterlife after their souls leave their bodies in death-like situations such as cardiac arrest, is a gift from modern medical science that sheds light on the previously vague afterlife.
