Charlie Garrett - a 70 year dream that started drag racing on dirt.

It is impossible to sum up the legacy and the footprint that somebody like this man has built over 70 years in an hour. Proud Pennsylvania Charlie Garrett is a remarkable man. Basically, he’s a one-man operation that punches out some of the most fearsome sprint car motors on the planet. Nearing 88 years of age, Charlie has more energy than people a quarter of his existence. Charlie’s engines are something you just can’t buy off the shelf. You also can’t buy his experience or his life philosophy either. But you can listen. I cannot thank Charlie enough for the time he spent with me and the insights that he gave me in the few hours that I spent in Hanover. He is a humble man yet extremely confident in his own ability and why wouldn’t he be after seven decades of perfecting and honing his craft. It was such a thrill for me to spend some time with Charlie and hear his take on life. What a fantastic person and what a tremendous contributor to the world of sprint car racing!
