Panorama Bike & Hike Tour in and above one of the most beautiful valleys in the Allgäu: from Oberstdorf through the Oytal to the Käseralpe by bike and hike over the Eisseen lakes. Tour data: Distance: 30.5 km (of which approx. 22 km by bike in and out; hike: 8.5 km) Elevation gain: 1350 meters (580 by bike to the Käseralpe, 770 hiking) Duration: 5.5 hours (when cycling with the e-bike) Tour link hike: https://out.ac/ITdMrP You should definitely have done this fantastic tour in the Allgäu. However, if you are traveling without a bike, you have an extremely long hike ahead of you, which can only be shortened on the way back, if you are on time, by renting one of the scooters at Oytal and rolling a good 6km back to Oberstdorf. Even then, it is still a long tour. If you are traveling without an electric bike, be prepared for the sometimes very steep approach, which reaches its maximum before and after the Stuibenfall. However, a stop at the beautiful waterfall is worthwhile. Otherwise, the route follows good paths (asphalt / gravel) to the Käseralpe, which is open in summer. The circular route from there begins for us in the direction of the mighty Höfats and then slightly to the left up to the Älpelesattel. Up to this point, the ascent is moderate. Then the trail climbs steeply up a narrow path with some high steps. Finally we arrive at the Seichereck, for us the highest point of this tour at 2029m. If time and conditions allow, you can make an additional detour to the Rauheck (approx. +250m in elevation). From the saddle here, you can already enjoy a wonderful view of the ice lakes and waterfalls. From here, the descent to the Eisseen lakes is normally not too technically difficult. In our case (end of June 2024), however, there was still so much snow here that the descent had to be made much more difficult in pathless grassy terrain. There were also still many snow fields around the large ice lake and it was often not possible to find the way. Therefore, please check the conditions and pay attention to the paths you take. We continue past the Eissee lakes around the basin towards the Wildenfeldhütte, where we descend to the Käserlalpe.
