Once we understand this, we understand the importance of our sleep on our health. Sleep is essential for: 💪 Physiological recovery 🧠 Memory Diet plays a very important role in the quality of our sleep. Our diet provides amino acids to our brain. Amino acids help create neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters produce melatonin, the sleep hormone. Our diet impacts the production of melatonin and therefore the quality of our sleep. To promote this process, we can favor certain foods. Foods containing tryptophan are very interesting because they are linked to melatonin. 🌿 Pumpkin seeds 🧀 La Brousse cheese 🍌 Banana These are examples of foods to favor from 5 p.m. and for the evening meal. Exercise activity at the end of the day can have a significant impact on falling asleep. Depending on each person's sensitivity to adrenaline and dopamine, Christophe advises us to avoid high-intensity sessions after 5 p.m. A very rich episode, with many insights, but which can transform your relationship with sleep. "The metabolism of tryptophan and serotonin is complex and not fully understood. This makes it a very complicated subject to cover in a popular podcast. A large portion of serotonin (80 to 90%) is produced directly in the intestine from tryptophan. This transformation regulates our immune function around the intestinal mucosa, or maintains intestinal health in the broadest sense. For tryptophan to be properly assimilated and transformed, good intestinal health must coexist with a diet rich in tryptophan. This poses a real problem today: a diet whose intake is often insufficient and chronic stress that disrupts intestinal and mental health, thereby reducing the assimilation and transformation of tryptophan. This brings us back to Nutripure's recommendations: sleep better, breathe better, eat better, move better, and think better."
