Living in a 275-year-old Cottage in the English Countryside | The Cotswolds | Week 15

This is Week 15 living in our 275-year-old Cotswold cottage and this week was exactly what I started this channel. We started with a girlie brunch and a little Father's Day shopping, followed by a spontaneous stop at a beautiful little church we always drive past but never stop at. That's the thing about living here - because so much still feels like a novelty, we actually do the things we always said we'd do. Butter coffee is my new obsession. After the blueberry lemon crunch bowl, I clearly have a type! A home day followed - blue skies, baking confetti cookies with Matilda (from The Kitchen Book - absolute winner), park and garden time. I love that she's at an age where cooking together is actually enjoyable rather than stressful. We also made it to the farmers' market, something we try to do as often as we can to support local producers. And the pain au chocolat from La Boulangerie Artisan are, genuinely, the best I've had outside of France. I don't say that lightly. Then Daylesford. I know it gets a reputation on social media but I've been a fan for nearly 20 years. I worked with them early in my career and it was such a warm, welcoming company that I've never really fallen out of love with it. Yes it's expensive, but as my grandad used to say ‘you pay for what you get’. One of my hacks: ask for vouchers for Christmas and birthdays so you can enjoy it without the guilt! Friday was pizza with a friend while Matilda was at cricket and then the weekend brought a Father's Day garden trail and pub dinner with Mark and my parents - perfect. But the highlight of the week was Guiting Power Fete and Dog Show. A proper, traditional village fete - sunshine, dogs, cakes, ice cream and a ‘waggiest tail’ competition! This week's vlog is what I started this channel for. Daily life, captured on film. The little moments that add up to something really good.
