Dr. Pam Palmater Speaking at the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness Conference in Winnipeg
Dr. Pamela Palmater is a Mi'kmaq lawyer, professor, activist and politician from Mi'kma'ki, New Brunswick, Canada. A frequent media political commentator, she appears for Aboriginal Peoples Television Network's InFocus, CTV, and CBC. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University. In addition to her faculty appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration, Dr. Palmater holds the Chair in Indigenous Governance, and is also a member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, affiliated with the MA program in Public Policy and Administration. Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness was honored to have Dr. Palmater keynoting at this year's event in Winnipeg. The National Conference on Ending Homelessness in Canada arms policymakers, funders, researchers, advocates, community leaders and front-line workers with the inspiration, information, tools and training they need to end homelessness. End Homelessness Winnipeg partnered with National CAEH to bring this year's national conference to Winnipeg on October 25 to 27. CAEH 17 conference integrated a special focus on Indigenous homelessness, Truth & Reconciliation, and Social Justice with dedicated sessions, featured content throughout the program, some terrific keynote speakers as well as art, cultural, and Ceremonial opportunities.
