It is 1.3 Miles, ~50 FT Elevation Gain Round Trip, so it is essentially a glorified Leg Stretcher Hike - given the high quality beauty it is one of the lowest effort to highest reward ratio payoff Hikes in the entire Area and well worth making a point of stopping at! This was my first time doing it and I absolutely fell in love with the area - if you go in the morning the sun lights up the Pine Trees making them glowing green and a myriad of birds too plentiful to count sing to you along the way as you Hike! When driving South on Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, it is just South of Lava Lake and Little Lava Lake - you'll see the turn for Lucky Lake Trailhead on your Right, keep going past that, and it is the next Turn on your Left - PLEASE NOTE there is no sign on the Road - it is just a small opening side road with room for a few vehicles - the Trailhead itself has no signage, nothing says Blue Lagoon Trailhead! But rest assured you are in the right spot. I will also note that there is no entry for this location on Google Maps - it's almost as if its being intentionally kept a secret! There IS an entry for it on AllTrails. There is what appears to be a Backcountry Campsite at the end of the Trail with a Flat Area for a Tent, two long logs creating a demarcation line, and what appears to be a Fire Pit. Please follow all Rules & Regulations and refer to Deschutes National Forest for any guidance regarding the potential usage of this Backcountry Campsite.
