We Were Forced to Leave Ibiza Because After incredible days in Ibiza, we were forced to completely change our plans. The forecast indicated a sudden change in the weather and, with no berths available in Ibiza's marinas, the only alternative was to weigh anchor before the wind picked up even more and make a crossing to escape the strong winds that were coming. What seemed like a calm crossing quickly turned into hours of heavy swell, changing wind direction, and an arrival at the marina much more complicated than we imagined. We had to stop with 30 knots of wind in a tiny berth for the Joy while the sailors on land anxiously awaited disaster. Did we make the right decision? In this episode, we show the entire crossing to Dénia in Spain, the behind-the-scenes decisions we made at sea, one of the tensest maneuvers we've ever done with the Joy, the storm that hit the marina the day after our arrival, and the initial preparations for handing the boat over to its new owners.
