In Queenstown, the final city of our New Zealand trip, Zero Genie met some unforgettable and special connections. A warm encounter with a Korean couple in their 60s, whom we met by chance during our trip to Glenorchy, led to an invitation to their home that evening. For the first time in a long while, we shared a hearty Korean meal and samgyeopsal together. We could truly feel the deep warmth of the Korean people when they even packed us side dishes to take back home. They run a Korean guesthouse called "Rodem Tree House" in Queenstown and have been settled in New Zealand for over 30 years. I was deeply impressed by their story that they operate the guesthouse solely out of a love for people and cooking. Our connection continued thereafter, extending from outings and meals in Airburn to warm moments at their home. They invited us like family for a full five days. We were deeply moved by how they genuinely cared for us, even though we weren't guests, and by their prayers for Genie's health.
