AT&SF 2926 Takes the Mainline!
For the first time since 1953, AT&SF 2926 took the mainline in Albuquerque, New Mexico on September 30, 2023. We were there for the event and catch it as it was backed out of the barn and the tool car was coupled to the tender. After the tool car is coupled, the consist backs down the sawmill spur to the mainline where NMRX dispatch gives permission to enter the mainline for the first time in 70 years. 2926 will be on display at New Mexico Railroad Days through October 1, 2023.
