Cooking For One: Rebuilding Life After Loss
This Valentine's Day looks a little different for me. It's my first one on my own in many years, but different can also be good. In this video, I'm cooking a simple, heart-healthy meal for one - steak, sweet potato, vegetables, and chocolate covered strawberries - in honor of the life I shared with my husband, and in gratitude for the strength I'm still building. Cooking for one doesn't mean we stop fixing real meals. Taking care of ourselves still matters, especially when life changes in way we didn't expect. Holidays don't disappear just because our circumstances do. We can honor what was - and still grow forward. If you're walking through a new season too - whether that's loss, transition, or simply learning to live solo - I hope this encourages you. You can be alone and still be strong. Keep growing. _______ If you're interested in more videos about rebuilding life, simple living, and health after 60, you might enjoy: My Weight Loss Journey after 60 *The walking routine that helped me lose 30 pounds Life in the In-Between playlist 0:00 - Why this Valentine's Day is different 0:50 - A heart healthy meal for one 1:15 - The menu 2:15 - Weight loss journey inspires better choices 3:20 - A treat from the broccoli stem 4:10 - Seasoning the steak 5:40 - My husband calling my steak "burnt offering". 6:10 - Why I'm using a skillet insted of grill 7:00 - We need to keep cooking real meals even for one 7:45 - Gratitude is the main feeling from life changes 8:15 - Chocolate covered strawberries 8:40 - Quick, simple, delicious meal for one 9:14 - I'm the only one here at the table, but I'm not lonely #growingagain #cookingforone #alone #lifeafterloss
