Viva La Vida – Coldplay | OrganFox an der Orgel von St. Marien Schillig Das Lied hat einfach Power. Und genau das wollten wir diesmal zeigen: Coldplay auf der Kirchenorgel – mit richtig vollem Klang. Aufgenommen wurde diese Version von „Viva La Vida“ in St. Marien in Schillig an der Nordsee. Diesmal durfte die Orgel zeigen, was in ihr steckt: Tutti! Also voller Klang, volle Register, volle Energie. Die Idee zu dieser Aufnahme kam tatsächlich vor Ort: Der Pfarrer erzählte, dass der Organist der Gemeinde dieses Stück schon einmal an der Orgel gespielt hatte. Da war klar: Das müssen wir ausprobieren. Challenge accepted. 😄 Und ja: „Viva La Vida“ funktioniert an der Orgel richtig gut. Die Melodie, der Rhythmus, die großen Akkorde – das bekommt auf der Pfeifenorgel noch einmal eine ganz eigene Wucht. Popmusik trifft Kirchenraum. Coldplay trifft Nordsee-Orgel. And that is exactly what we wanted to show in this recording: Coldplay on a church organ – with a truly massive sound. This version of “Viva La Vida” was recorded in St. Marien in Schillig, close to the North Sea. This time, the organ was allowed to show its full strength: Tutti! Full sound, full registration, full energy. The idea for this recording actually came from the priest on site. He mentioned that the parish organist had already played this piece on the organ before. So the decision was easy: we had to try it too. Challenge accepted. 😄 And yes: “Viva La Vida” works incredibly well on the organ. The melody, the rhythm, the big chords – on a pipe organ, all of that gains a very special kind of power. Pop music meets sacred space. Coldplay meets a North Sea church organ.
