How to make a Wooden Glide Bait Using Minimal Tools | & Made "One" BIG Mistake!

🎣 Hi guys, welcome back to another wooden lure building video! After receiving a suggestion from one of you in the comments, today's video is all about how to make wooden glide baits. I’ll be honest - this build was a real challenge. Designing a glide bait from wood is far more difficult than I expected but I’m really happy with how the overall design turned out. There are definitely things I’d like to change but that’s all part of the learning process as I like to say "there's always room for improvement". I also tried to keep my camera setup cleaner this time so you can actually see what I’m working on throughout the build. (although I do like my cap 😉) In this video we will build an entire wooden glide bait using only minimal power tools. Starting with a simple wooden block we’ll cut out the profile with a jigsaw, shape the lure using a belt sander, carve the tapers by hand, spend plenty of time sanding, add fine details with a rotary tool, cut the joint, install the hardware and prepare the lure for airbrushing. One experiment I really wanted to try was adding a aluminium tail. It looks cool … but unfortunately it caused problems during the weighting process. But sometimes the best way to learn is by making mistakes & If you stick around until the end you’ll also see the completed lure blank and hear what I’d change on my next attempt.
