Top Tip Tuesday - Cycles4D EFX

This week for Top Tip Tuesday, we’re firing up Cycles 4D to render nxExplosiaFX. Beginning with a simple, cached nxExplosiaFX scene, we take a quick look at the render settings then add the Principle Volume material as a base for the rendered look. Working in the Node Editor, we add two Point Density Texture nodes to reference the separate ExplosiaFX data channels. Setting the first to EFX Smoke, we introduce a Math node in Multiply mode to control the smoke density alongside a Color Ramp for further control. With the smoke set up, we add the second Point Density Texture node, set this one to EFX Temperature, add Map Range, Multiply and Color Ramp nodes to convert the temperature values to a usable scale and control the desired color output. A great tutorial if you’re wanting to dial in your fire and smoke renders using Cycles 4D! Want more? Like, subscribe, and stay connected with us!
