Today, there are several types of bulbs available on the market for installation and adaptation in cars, but each one has its own particularities and permissions for installation in national cars. Among these types of bulbs are the common halogen, the super white halogen, the xenon system and the super LED system. Let's talk in detail about each one of them. We start with the common bulb to use as a parameter in the analysis of the others. The halogen bulb, or common bulb, as people say, is the bulb that equips most domestic cars in Brazil. It has a plastic bulb that resembles glass and an electric filament that glows and generates light and heat when it receives energy. The headlights are manufactured specifically for the use of this bulb, which is why the light produced by it is good and perfectly focused on the road and off-road signs. One negative point is the high heat generation, which in addition to heating up the headlight a lot, also has high energy consumption. The super white bulb came to meet an aesthetic need. The structure is the same as the common bulb, but the quartz is colored blue to give the impression of whiter light and without the yellowish appearance of the common bulb. However, the result is not that satisfactory because the light presents very little change in color and its efficiency is low, leaving much to be desired on rainy or foggy nights. The xenon lighting system presents a completely different way of generating light. It has a small ball filled with xenon gas inside a glass bulb. In order for this gas to produce light, it needs to receive a discharge of 20,000 volts for 1 second produced by a ballast and then return to the normal 12v and remain on. The xenon system produces very strong light with lower energy consumption than a regular bulb, as it heats up less. The disadvantages of xenon are its low durability, its very scattered lighting focus and its inability to concentrate the light on the ideal point on the highway, unless it is installed in a car from the factory. It is not allowed to be installed on vehicles that do not have the factory system, as the headlights are not prepared for this. In addition, the color of the light tends to be very blue, which attracts the attention of traffic inspectors when they stop you. The most modern system is the super LED, which consists of a capsule with dozens of enclosed LEDs that produce an absurd amount of light in a single location, thus being able to get very close to the original focus of a regular bulb but with much greater power and a whiter color that is very modern and beautiful to see at night. However, the super LED lighting system, although compatible with the headlights of domestic cars, is still not allowed for installation in cars that did not come with this system from the factory.
