Justice Shiv Narayan Dhingra, Former Judge Delhi High Court is one of the foremost voices from Judiciary that condemned misuse of IPC 498A. His landmark Judgments in early 2000's served as a precedent for many a people to get relief in false dowry cases. His observations, whether that is about exaggerated claims of wedding expenditures by the bride or template FIRs by advocates or importance of both sides producing tax evidences to substantiate their claims became rule books for people to identify exaggerated charges in 498A cases. Unfortunately, he also had to face wrath of women's rights activists only for speaking the truth.
