A HAM maker OR SOMETHING ELSE? We tested it on a turkey fillet! I've had one test in mind for a while now... Is the popular ham maker really the best way to prepare homemade cold cuts? After all, it was created specifically to seal a larger piece of meat at home and make your own, healthy cold cuts. And since I know most of you don't run a butcher shop 😉, I decided to explore solutions that everyone can use. To have a complete comparison, I divided the same turkey fillet into four parts and prepared each in a different container: 👉 ham maker 👉 jar 👉 canned food 👉 polyamide casing The meat was accompanied by tried-and-true spices: 🧄 garlic 🌿 white pepper ✨ Almi seasoning, which perfectly enhanced the turkey's flavor. Of course, gelatin from Brodnica complemented the whole thing. Because... you know. The only one in Poland! The best. After processing, it was time for tasting and... ...the results surprised me a bit. The taste? Amazing in every version. But in terms of appearance, cutting, and ease of use, the differences were truly significant. I must admit that this time the ham maker was a bit of a disappointment. The jelly separated from the meat and leaked out of the foil. And this is where I'm counting on your help. What could I have done wrong? Is it the meat? The temperature? Or maybe the preparation method itself? Be sure to share your experiences in the comments. The polyamide casing from MAS-POL turned out to be a huge positive surprise. The product turned out compact, sliced beautifully, presented beautifully, and will keep very well in the fridge. Every solution has its advantages, however. 🥫 Canned food? For me, it's unrivaled for trips, camping trips, and caravans. And since I'm a fan of this type of recreation, I know perfectly well how convenient it is to always have a ready-made product on hand. 🫙 Jar? It was a little harder to empty, but it has one huge advantage. It's reusable and can be easily resealable if you don't eat it all in one sitting. And what about a ham maker? I'm not ruling it out. Quite the opposite. I'm tempted to give it another chance. Maybe turkey fillet just wasn't the best choice for it? Maybe next time we'll try pork neck... or ham?
