MOUTHWATERING BBQ BRISKET MADE IN A CROCKPOT: Plus Homemade BBQ Sauce & Sourdough Buns

If you don't have a smoker and you're not an expert on outdoor grilling, you can still have mouthwatering BBQ Brisket by making it in a Crockpot/Slow Cooker. In this video I share an easy dump-and-go recipe that you will absolutely love. It's all in the rub! But I also share how to make homemade BBQ sauce, and I take it a step further and even make sourdough buns for the perfect BBQ Brisket Sandwich. Crockpot BBQ Brisket 4 - 5lb. beef brisket (most of the fat trimmed) For the rub: 1 Tbsp. light brown sugar 1 Tbsp. smoked paprika (if you don't have smoked, use regular) 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. garlic powder 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. black pepper 1 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper Mix to combine and that is the rub. Use it to completely cover the brisket on all sides. This can be done right before cooking, or you can do it the night before. If you choose to do it the night before, tightly wrap your seasoned brisket in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. For the cooking sauce you will need: 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce (A recipe for homemade is below) 1/2 cup beef broth *optional 1/2 - 1 tsp. liquid smoke Whisk to combine then place on the bottom of your crockpot that is set to Low. Then place seasoned brisket on top. Put the lid on your crockpot and let cook on low 8 - 10 hours. (You can cook up to 12 if necessary) Then remove brisket from crockpot and slice, shred or chop. Use leftover juices in crockpot to pour over, or you can return chopped brisket to the crockpot. Enjoy! To make Homemade BBQ sauce: 1 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1 1/4 cup ketchup 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard 2 tsp. smoked paprika (use regular paprika if that's all you have) 1 tsp. onion powder 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. kosher salt 1/2 tsp. black pepper Put all ingredients in small saucepan and whisk to combine. Place on stovetop over medium heat. Let it come to a low simmer while stirring. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Refrigerate until ready to use.
