This Costa Rican River Is CRAWLING With CROCODILES 🐊 ... Do NOT Jump In This Water!🚒 πŸ›Ÿ πŸ“·

The Tarcoles River in Costa Rica is infested with American Crocodiles! The 69-mile river, which starts in the mountains and drains into the Pacific Ocean, is very polluted. Even so, an estimated 2,000 crocodiles call the muddy waterway home. The highly dangerous reptiles can grow as large as 23 feet in length and weigh up to 2,900 pounds. American Crocodiles are carnivores and not at all picky about what they eat. They'll consume everything from small fish to large mammals like cows, deer, and even human beings. Curious to learn more about the massive reptiles, I joined a river cruise with Crocodile Man Tours. The 90-minute voyage put me within arms reach of nearly a dozen crocs. The American Crocodile can be found in Southern Florida, several Caribbean islands, much of Mexico, all of Central America, and parts of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela. American Crocodiles can tolerate salty water, meaning it's not uncommon to see them in the water at beaches, and even sunning on the sand. Locals recommend beachgoers avoid any brackish water where rivers empty into the sea. NEVER swim in a Costa Rican river at low elevation! Most of Costa Rica's mountainous rivers are free of crocodiles due to rapids and colder water temperatures. When in doubt, ask a local for guidance. Crocodile Man Tours offers five 90-minute river cruises per day. They cost $35 per person. I thoroughly enjoyed my tour. Click on the link below for more information...
