DAY 7 🌱 One Of The Hardest Decisions Of The Entire Project 🌱

DAY 7 🌱 Today marks one of the biggest milestones of the project so far. After countless wheelbarrows, tonnes of soil, and weeks of hard work, we finally fill the last of the large planters from the old fruit cage area. It’s a huge step forward and brings us one step closer to preparing the space for the outdoor kitchen and community area we’ve been working towards since the beginning. But this episode became about much more than moving soil. I also talk about Time2Talk, an incredible men's mental health group here in Derby that provides support, friendship and a safe space for men who may be struggling. If you're finding things difficult, feeling isolated, or simply want to connect with other men, I strongly encourage you to check them out. The most emotional part of today's episode involves a memorial tree that my late mum, Cindy Carter-Foster, helped create. Removing part of that memorial wasn't an easy decision. This isn't about getting rid of something important. It's about preserving its meaning and repurposing it into something bigger, better and more fitting for the future of the garden. The legacy remains. We're simply creating a new chapter for it. This project started as a garden transformation, but it continues to become something much deeper. Every planter moved, every space rebuilt and every decision made carries memories, purpose and a vision for the future. Thank you for following the journey and supporting Project Derby. 🌱 #ProjectDerby #CommunityGarden #GardenTransformation #MentalHealth #Time2Talk #OutdoorKitchen #Gardening #CommunityProject #TransformationJourney #GardenLife #Day7
