This is the second F82 M4 with DCT trouble, as mentioned in the previous video. The symptom of this M4 was that the vehicle had been running normally until just a moment ago, but suddenly it was unable to select gears, rendering it immobile... When it was brought into our workshop, the engine wouldn't even start. The engine later started, but the shift position was not displayed on the meter and it would not shift into any position. After diagnosing, we found that there was a problem with the TCU being unable to communicate. We purchased a used transmission and repaired it, just like the previous M4. After doing some research while repairing both vehicles, we realized that in cases of TCU trouble like this, purchasing a used TCU and repairing it is probably the cheapest way to repair it. It can also be used on the E9X series and previous generation DCTs. Not all DCT problems have the same cause, but if the TCU is malfunctioning, we believe it can be repaired using the same method.
