MANV Katastrophenschutzübung Gillamoos Abensberg, 500 Einsatzkräfte, 900. Video

German Fire, EMS, Police etc at disaster drill: The disaster drill "Gillamoos" in the town of Abensberg. As the alarm was set off at 09:10 AM, "only" a fire between two of the big party tents was assumed. With the VFD Abensberg arrving on scene first, it turned out that the fire caused a mass panic with 150 casualties. With many people fleeing from the fire, some of them were pushed / fell into the river Abens. Furthermore a heavy MVA on state road 2144 was assumed. All together that means that a fire, a mass casualtly incident, a water rescue and a traffic accident are part of one single drill. That kind of incidents made a lot of units appear on scene: many Volunteer Fire Departments from all over the district, the Bavarian Red Cross with both the normal EMS and also with the disaster management and water rescue division, the German Lifeguard Association and the Federal Agency for Technical Relief responded with more than 500 men to the scene.
