VN24 - June 2, 2026 - Iserlohn, Germany - Of all places, the MAN TGX series tractor-trailer burst into flames right in the middle of a bridge over the Lenne River and a heavily trafficked railroad line! The driver was just able to stop his truck and jump out as flames were already blazing between the tractor and the semi-trailer. There was nothing left to save. The truck burned to the ground. The trailer, on which a 26-ton steel coil was secured, was also consumed by the flames. Because the aluminum tanks burned through, several hundred liters of diesel fuel spilled out; most of it ignited, but some also flowed into the sewer system and the Lenne River below. The fire department was on the scene with a large contingent. The next day, the towing company ABS from Hagen handled the recovery of the wreckage. The bridge structure sustained significant property damage.
