Pere Marquette 1225: The Cadillac Limited 2019

On October 5th, 2019, we find ourselves in central Michigan to chase Pere Marquette #1225, a Lima Locomotive Works, 2-8-4 Berkshire. She is one of only two currently operating in North America and is the oldest surviving Berkshire. 2019 brings the 1225 north, running rare mileage from Mt. Pleasant to Cadillac, Michigan on the "Cadillac Limited," a 10 car excursion with no diesel assistance. This is also 1225's first run with newly equipped roller bearings on pilot, trailing, and tender trucks. We first see 1225 right around 06:45, the crack of dawn as she makes her early deadhead to Mt. Pleasant. From there we chase the train all day to Cadillac and return.
