Parkrun - Conkers - HIT or MISS?

Welcome to my review of #Conkers #Parkrun, just outside of #Ashby de la Zouche, Leicestershire. Located in the heart of the #nationalforest, this Parkrun takes you through varied terrain and landscapes across the #5km. The course is one of the best organised Parkrun’s I have done, it is well-marshalled and easy to follow, with a mix of tarmac and off-road paths. The #runners are split into starting ‘pens’ depending on approximate finish time which is the first time I have seen this at a Parkrun and a great idea which I hope catches on. The run starts near the Conkers Discovery Centre, and you soon find yourself running the path of an old colliery railway track called the Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail, before doing a loop of a wooded area called #Donisthorpe Woodlands Park, which sits on the site of the former Donisthorpe Colliery. You then return to the Heritage Trail back to the start, where the finish line is. #running #running #parkrunuk
