Coffin Fly Spinner, Holsinger's Fly Shop

This Coffin Fly Spinner pattern is the one I use to imitate spent spinner of the Green Drake Mayfly. The Green Drake is a popular mayfly hatch in my area which occurs every year right around Memorial Day. After hatching into its adult stage and flying off the water to do its mating thing, the mayfly then molts again and emerges as the " Coffin Fly". The coffin fly after finishing its duties falls to the water and dies being carried away downstream with outspread wings. This stage of the lifecycle makes for an easy meal of the trout. For that reason, it's one of my favorite methods to fish the green drake hatch. Moose Mane is a great material for tailing on your mayflies and it also makes for a great body material too. If you need Moose Mane or any other materials, please go to https://www.holsingersflyshop for all your needs. If we would happen to be out of stock of a material you need or can't seem to find please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will be happy to try to help you out.
