Stubby Chubby, Holsinger's Fly Shop

This weeks pattern is another pattern a customer asked me to tie. The Stubby Chubby is a scaled down version of the Chubby Chernobyl. I've been on a foam fly kick lately and thought this would be a great one to share with you guys.In the video I tied the pattern in a size 14 but for my customer I tied it in a size 18. That little 18 was a little tough to fit everything on the hook, but man did it make an awesome looking little fly. Here on the East Coast this patten will work great for a beetle or even an ant in the size 18. This is one of those flies you probably have the materials already for already and it not you have something similar to substitute for it. Give it a try and trying tying it as small as you can, if nothing else do it for the practice and gaining experience.
