You can also find the doctor on his YouTube page:    / @doctordamian   How much calcium does an adult need daily to have in the body, constantly, the 1,200 grams necessary for everything to function properly. The American guidelines valid in the period 2020-2025 recommend an intake of 1,000 mg of calcium per day from 19 to 50 years old. Men stay at the same dose even after 50 years (let's not spoil the barley on the geese, because that calcium costs money), but when it comes to ladies, the requirement increases to 1,200 milligrams. Gentlemen, to equalize and take the same 1,200 mg of calcium daily, put it aside, save money, because you will need it after 70 years. Come on, I got carried away with the rhyme and the verse, losing interest: how do you realize that you have a calcium deficiency. What signs does your body give you to draw your attention that it would like to receive this mineral additionally. Signs that in the first phase are so subtle that they may not even be noticed. Things continue and the deficiency deepens, the symptoms worsen and your health betrays you. The symptoms are present, obvious and disturbing when the serum calcium level is dangerously low. 1. Constant fatigue A lack of adequate calcium can lead to fatigue. But not your usual fatigue, but a persistent state of weakness and low energy, with dizziness, a feeling of brain fog, frequent confusion and difficulty concentrating. Exhaustion and lethargy are the result of the fact that muscle fibers and nerves, which need calcium, do not receive the amount they need, go into breakdown and use up their reserves to the last drop. 2. Muscle cramps and spasms Calcium helps muscles contract and relax, and in its absence, neurons become unstable and painful muscle contractions (twitches), stiffness and spasms are triggered. As symptoms worsen over time, muscle cramps become more and more frequent, especially in the back of the calves. 3. Irregular heartbeat Calcium plays an important role in heart health. For example, arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) is a common sign of inadequate calcium levels in the blood and a leading cause of sudden cardiac death. This is because the heart is also a muscle, and when its cells do not receive enough calcium, they stop functioning properly and spasms occur. In addition, blood vessels narrow when calcium levels are low, leading to an irregular rhythm. 4. Numbness and tingling in the fingers Calcium is also very involved in the functioning of the central nervous system. A deficiency in it affects the nerves, especially those in the extremities (hands, feet, fingers). 5. Brittle bones If we do not give the body enough calcium, it will take it from the bones to maintain adequate levels in the blood. And since we don't give it, as we age, the body can no longer absorb that little bit of calcium we do give it so easily. 6. Poor oral health Teeth are not bones, but they are anchored in bone structures. When the body has a calcium deficiency and starts to consume, as I told you, from the places where there are reserves, in order to remain functional, the teeth are also at risk: they become more susceptible to cavities and even periodontal disease. 7. Seizures In extreme cases, especially if it's a very pronounced calcium deficiency, there is a risk of laryngeal spasm or seizures. But I think that you all go for your annual tests, and on this occasion they also see how much serum calcium you have, and total calcium. And what else. --- Facebook:   / pacientul20   Instagram:   / pacientul2.0   TikTok:   / _pacientul2.0   EHealthRomania: https://ehealthromania.com/ Welcome to the Pacientul2.0 channel!
