Why let the super funds become Australia’s biggest landlord?
Labor wants Australia's housing stock to be owned by foreign fund managers and Big Super funds. Under Labor's HAFF, Cbus Super will play a major role in Labor’s Housing Australia Future Fund. The Treasurer refused to release documents that detail correspondence between his office and Cbus Super. This decision was overturned by the Information Commissioner because they are not commercial in confidence. The very fact that these documents would be concealed by Labor, shows they lack transparency.
