Media and Information Literacy in the School Library with First News: A free training webinar

Watch this free training webinar focused on media and information literacy in the school library, hosted in partnership with First News. The recently published Curriculum and Assessment Review recommends that media literacy be embedded in the English and Citizenship curriculum. We know school librarians are well placed to support young people to develop their skills and knowledge in this area and are pleased to bring you this event which includes a presentation from First News showcasing their new MIL frameworks for primary and secondary schools, produced in collaboration with the Media and Information Literacy Alliance, and providing an excellent route to supporting skills development through the school library. You can also hear from Professor Julian McDougall, SLA patron and author of "Media Literacy for the Communication Ecosystem: A Theory of Change for a Healthier Future" on how school librarians can apply some of these learnings to their practice, and from an SLA member librarian sharing hints and tips on how you can build MIL into the school library.
