Exploring findings from the Citizens’ Panel on climate adaptation in the UK

Watch the full launch event of the Climate Change Committee’s Citizens’ Panel on Climate Adaptation - and hear directly what the UK public thinks about preparing for climate change. This recording shares findings from a citizens' panel that brought together a diverse group of citizens, who explored what a well-adapted UK could and should look like. The panel focused on five impacts of climate change: overheating in homes, the impact on nature, transport disruptions, flooding of homes, and water and energy shortages and disruptions. Speakers shared key findings from the dialogue, including citizens’ levels of awareness and concern, their policy preferences and priorities, and the rationale behind their views. We also hear how the panel’s findings have informed the Climate Change Committee’s Well-Adapted UK report. Speakers and panellists included members of the project team (Climate Change Committee and Ipsos UK) as well as the project’s independent evaluator (URSUS).
