Aadab, This metaphorical composition was filmed at the Dargah, Khanqah-e-Karimia Salon, which was established in the mid-16th century in a small town in the Rae Bareli district of Awadh. The song is an ode to the legendary composer, the late Hazrat Shah Naim Ata, who served as the eighth Sajjada-Nasheen of the Khanqah until his passing in 1966. He was instrumental in promoting the Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb, the shared cultural heritage of Awadh. Following him, Shah Muhammad Husain Jafri (d. 1979) became the ninth Sajjada-Nasheen, and the current Sajjada-Nasheen is Shah Ahmad Husain Jafri. Hazrat Naim Ata's contributions to the local dialect and musical traditions are immeasurable. He composed both classical ragas and folk songs. Numerous songs sung during births, marriages, and festive occasions in both Hindu and Muslim homes across the villages and towns near Salon were composed by Shah Naim Ata. Many qawwals and folk singers, known as mirasins, trained under him. Even today, numerous former landed or talukadar families in the area continue to hire these Qawwals as their family singers. This composition plays an integral role in the Urs festival, which commemorates his union with the Divine. The Urs is a cultural festival held annually, featuring Qawwali and folk performances based on his compositions. It is attended by both Hindu and Muslim devotees, and events such as Quran recitations, offerings of chadar and flowers at his shrine, and a Langar (community meal) are essential parts of this religious gathering.
